Doubt, A Parable

DLP was nominated for five Kevin Kline Awards for it’s first production, DOUBT, A PARABLE.
The 2005 Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning Doubt, A Parable, by John Patrick Shanley, is a gripping story of the suspicious principal of St. Nicholas School, “Sister Aloysius”, “Father Flynn”, the affable priest who may or may not hold a dark secret, the young and inexperienced novitiate, “Sister James”, and “Mrs. Muller”, the anxious mother of the school’s first African-American student. Shanley creates a taut, enthralling study of the nature of truth.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops says of DOUBT, “…the balance of doubt and certainty in society at large forms the principal theme…Rating: A-III Adults.” SIGNIS, the Vatican-approved international Catholic organization for communication acknowledged, “DOUBT is about church structures, hierarchy, the exercise of power and the primacy of discipline and order…DOUBT is of strong Catholic interest.”
DOUBT, A PARABLE featured an all-Saint Louis cast: Kim Furlow, Jason Cannon (who also directs), Sarah Cannon, and Leah Stewart.
**Due to the popularity of our July 31 performance and post-show “talk-back” led by Fr. Tom Santen, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manchester, we added a second talk-back and were sold out for the first two performances of DOUBT, A PARABLE. Thanks, Father Santen!
