Past Productions
Steel Magnolias (Feb. 4-20, 2010)
“…the production, directed by Annamaria Pileggi, tends to get the big things right. The biggest is that by evening’s end the viewer is swept along on a surge of raw emotion.” –Dennis Brown, Riverfront Times
“As the beauty shop proprietor, Laurie McConnell defines sass, and Colleen Backer is a delight as the assistant she hires, a young woman still figuring out who she is.” –Judy Newmark, Post-Dispatch
“…if (like me) you’d never seen the play itself, but only know the story from the movie, you’ll be in for a delightful surprise…the play (here directed by the masterful Annamaria Pileggi) is as brisk and bright and real as its cast of well-known local actresses.” –Richard Green, Talkin’ Broadway.com
“It’s a pleasure to watch veteran talents such as executive producer Kim Furlow, Donna Weinsting, Sally Eaton, Laurie McConnell and Colleen Backer join talented newcomer Stephanie Brown in this tightly knit, precise ensemble who follow Pileggi’s steady guidance to make this a delightful and appealing production.” –Mark Bretz, Ladue News
Doubt, A Parable (July 30-Aug. 15, 2009)
Nominated for FIVE 2009 Kevin Kline Awards!
Outstanding Production of a Play Outstanding Ensemble in a Play Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play: Kim Furlow Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play: Jason Cannon Outstanding Director of a Play: Jason Cannon
“Furlow and Cannon (who also directs) give juicy performances that drip with conviction.” –Judy Newmark, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
“A new theater company. A powerful, award-winning play. A fine cast in good form. Strong direction. Those parts should add up to a successful evening of theater, and they do, in the debut of Dramatic License Productions…”
–Joe Pollack, St. Louis Eats Drinks with Joe and Ann Pollack
“You may think if you’ve seen the movie, you aren’t interested in the play. That would be a mistake since the immediacy of live theatre delivers a completely different and far more profound experience. Doubt: A Parable is a great start for the fledgling Dramatic License Productions…” –Andrea Braun, KDHX-FM
“Dramatic License Productions (in association with Vanity Theatre) makes a strong initial foray with this riveting presentation, driven by four terrific performances.”
–Chris Gibson, BroadwayWorld.com
